This course is most suitable for anyone interested in visual creative arts. You will get a comprehensive, versatile knowledge about the function and use of various practical Adobe tools – most notably Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere and many more. At the end, you will be experienced in creating and editing graphics, photographs, video, sound and other media.

Monday - Friday, 9:00 - 14:00


Credits:

You will receive an official Certificate of Attendance upon completion of your course. Please inform the organizing staff if you require any extra supplements, such as Transcript of Records. The student is eligible to receive up to 5 ECTS credits, however please follow the instructions here and consult the acknowledgment process with your university in advance.


Price:

Course fee includes the application fee, study materials and afternoon / evening social activities and events, welcome and goodbye drink. Other expenses, such as transportation, meals, accommodation, insurance, personal expenses, extra activities (such as trips outside town, entrance fees, some of the sport activities and rentals), and required equipment (i.e. personal laptop) are not included in the price.

This course is new to our Summer school course selection. However the lecturer has years of experience in the field.

Skills

Upon completion of this course you should be able to:

  • Plan and produce a multimedia content - storyboarding
  • Prepare basic planning and design documents for a multimedia program that include a goal statement, program objectives, navigation and layout diagrams, and an audience analysis.
  • Apply effective visual design, media integration, and layout for a multimedia program.
  • Effectively incorporate image, audio, animation, and text media into a multimedia program.
  • Implement basic interactivity in a multimedia program.
  • Improve your ability to accurately estimate the time required to produce a multimedia program.
  • Organize the files that are part of a multimedia program logically and efficiently.
  • Apply practical backup and archiving methods to the production of a multimedia program.
  • Realize the importance of keeping a project journal.

Students will be expected to meet the course goals listed in this syllabus.. The instructions will be project-based learning. Project-based learning is an instructional strategy that helps students makes connection between school and life. Students assessment will based on individual completions of assignments.

Prerequisites
  • B1 CEF absolute minimum, B2 and above strongly recommended.
  • A laptop will be essential. Prior software knowledge is not neccessary.
  • The course is designed for regular computer users.
  • Syllabus

    COURSE WILL COVER:

    1. Interactive multimedia
    2. Creating a project - storyboarding
    3. Software – Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, GarageBand, After effects
    4. Design and storyboard for presentations
    5. Presentations a animation techniques
    6. Graphic design
    7. Video and audio editing and publishing
    8. Proper formats, adjusting material, effect and filing procedures
    9. Publication techniques of your project
    Overall the course will be divided into 4 components:
    1. Multimedia
      • Compare types of multimedia, including presentation, desktop publishing
      • Web page design, graphic design, digital photography, and digital video use in creating projects
      • Utilize a variety of input devices for digitizing multimedia information - camera, scanner, camcorder
      • Software and equipment to create, modify, and enhance multimedia projects

    2. Graphic Design
      • Appropriate techniques associated with graphic design - selecting, resizing, manipulating graphics, changing resolution, restoring, retouching photographs, correcting color, creating images
      • Precision tools to manipulate images - deleting, moving, rotating, setting custom alignment guides, extracting and applying filters
      • Business and personal publications - newsletters, flyers, brochures, business cards, calendars
      • Ethical issues, authenticity

    3. Audio design
      • Adding audio to your content
      • Adjusting audio and selecting right formats
      • Synchronizing

    4. Web design
      • Web sites and web elements - understanding basic (HTML) tags, headings, and body
      • Web authoring programs - guest book, forms, banner advertisements, UX design
      • Digital files
      • Optimizing for web and print publications
